Upload a clear photo of the person who becomes the hero and answer a few fun questions about them: their job, hobbies, a catchphrase, a funny habit. We write three story ideas from your answers, you pick one, and we draw the cover and the first page so you can see it for free. If you like it, pick a printed format (softcover, hardcover or lay-flat hardcover) and order it, with the digital copy as an optional extra. We draw the rest of the comic right after you order, you check and approve every page, and then we print it.

A printed A4 comic with 26 full comic pages and a cover: $59.90 as a softcover, $59.90 as a hardcover or $79.90 as a lay-flat hardcover. Every extra copy is $30.00. Standard shipping is free, expedited shipping is $15.00. The digital copy (a PDF of the whole comic) is an optional extra for $7.99. You see the total before you pay.

We draw the rest of your comic right after you order, in about 15 to 25 minutes, and you read it online. Once you have approved every page, printing takes 3 to 10 working days, plus shipping to your country. Standard shipping is free; expedited shipping gets it to you sooner.

Every format is A4 portrait (8.3 x 11.7 in) with 34 printed pages: a title page, a cast page or your own dedication, 26 full comic pages with 3 to 5 panels each, and The End. Pick a softcover with a laminated cover, a hardcover with a matte laminated cover, or a lay-flat hardcover whose pages open completely flat. The digital copy has the same comic pages.

Yes, it is made for grown-ups, with grown-up humor and jokes that can tease. But nothing goes beyond PG-13: no nudity or sex, no gore, no slurs. Cartoon action and slapstick are fine, and nobody gets seriously hurt. We also do not draw real celebrities, politicians or brands.

Yes. Tell us about both of you in your answers, how you met, the running jokes, the trip that went wrong, and the story ideas we write will be about the two of you. Start from a story idea like How We Met if you want it to lean romantic.

Please do. Put them in your answers, together with nicknames, how you met or a real event. The questions about the hero (their catchphrase, a funny habit, a favorite place) give the story even more to work with, and the three story ideas are written around all of it.

Open your comic in the editor and have that page redrawn before you approve it for printing. You can also change the words on any page. Nothing is printed until you have checked every page.

A bright, sharp photo where only that person is in the picture and their face is clearly visible, ideally with some of their body too. No sunglasses, hats pulled low or heavy filters.

Yes. Mention them in your answers (who they are and what they are like) and the story ideas can give them a part. The hero, drawn from your photo, is the star on every page.

The speech balloons, captions and sound effects can be lettered in English (American or British), Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish or Swedish.

A greeting card (from $1.89), a coloring book ($9.95) and a birthday calendar ($11.95), all made from your comic's pictures and 20% off when a printed comic is in the same order. You can also start a sequel with the same characters, and copy or translate a comic for free.

Yes, for 2 hours after you pay, on the Orders page: your payment is then refunded to the original payment method within 5 working days. After that the order goes to the printer and can no longer be changed.

Every comic is made for the one person in it, so there is no right of return once we have started making it (our terms explain the details). You can cancel a print order for 2 hours after paying, on the Orders page. If a printed comic arrives faulty or damaged, send a photo to hello@personalizedcomicbook.com and we reprint it or refund you. If your comic is not drawn within a reasonable time, we make it again or refund your payment.

Of course. Email hello@personalizedcomicbook.com and a real person answers, whether a photo did not work or a parcel is taking its time.

No. Your comic is made as a personal gift and for fun: to give, to laugh at and to keep on the shelf, not for resale or advertising. The story is fiction, so it is not a source of facts about anyone either.

We use them only to draw your comic. To draw the pictures they are processed by AI services that are not allowed to use them to train AI models or keep them for their own purposes. They are stored securely, never sold, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
